Virtual Fence

The U.S. gives a final OK to 'virtual fence' on Arizona border. I personally think that they should not put any fence, radars, or surveillance cameras to try to catch immigrants entering the country illegally. A lot of people risk their lives just to have a better life looking for the “American Dream.” Immigrants get so desperate to see their family members struggle, so then they decide to come to this country. The immigrants would take any risk for a better life. They’re not going to harm anybody. They just want a better life, to support their families. Illegal immigrants that come to this country do it to find a better life for them and their families, because back in their foreign countries there are not enough job opportunities.

The government paid Boeing $15 million of its initial $20 million contract before determining that there were glitches in the test project. The department gave a conditional acceptance in December. The government is spending a lot of money on building a virtual fence that is not even going to work at all. The illegal immigrants are going to find away to cross the fence no matter what. Immigrating to the United States is not as easy as it sounds; immigrants from Mexico have to cross the Rio Grande River, which is a very dangerous river where many people have died; if they are lucky to make it across the river, they will have to walk hundreds of miles in the desert, suffering hunger, thirst, and cold nights. Many times they get sick and die at the dessert, leaving their family at Mexico even worst. Other times they get caught when they're about to make it across the border, but they will keep trying, until they make it. Unfortunately, many immigrants are so desperate that they will risk their lives.

Therefore, I think that today, Mexican immigrants are lucky to cross the boarder without being shot. What's the difference between them and us, we're both human beings, coming to this place looking for a better way of life, so why we do not get treated the same way. People think that we only come to the United States to make things worst for them and limit their future; they do not see the contributions that immigrants make to this country. Immigrants should be respected as any human being that lives in the United States. Everybody comes to America for one purpose for a better life

Finally, I believe that immigrants should be legalized, so they can go back to their country and see their families, also because, Immigrants not also have the right, but because they have earned it, and should be treated equally, since this is a free country of equal rights.
